SWEET&SOUR CHERRY PIE ♥

I'm Cheryl! But sometimes people call me Cherry. ♥
I'm the youngest resident of Bluebell, and I help my mama run our shop in town.
I also have the coolest bestest most wonderful big brother EVER, Ash. He takes care of me and spoils me a lot, according to my mama. I love him a lot! ♥ I hope to marry someone like him someday.

One day I hope to learn lots about the mountains and Konohana, and how to cook. In fact, I want big brother and Howard to teach me! ♥ Also, that pretty man Mikhail should teach me how to play the violin~

Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you! And please feel free to ask me anything you like! ♥

Hi~ How are— oh!

-She gasps as the bouquet is held before her, and her blue eyes get big and shine with excitement.- Oh, wooow! ♥ Thank you so much!! There’s nothing better than your flowers~ oh, except for you, of course♥ heehee♥ -She sniffs them gratefully and gives him another hug.-

[Smiles lightly as her eyes brighten up upon seeing the flowers.] You’re welcome, Cheryl— I’m glad you like them. [Chuckles softly, gently running his hand down the tip of one of her pigtails.] Really? Because I like to think that there’s nothing better than yourself.

[Returns her hug, before pulling away slightly - and he rests his hands on her shoulders, heaving a small sigh.] I’m sorry … I’ve been gone for so long— I just up and left without saying anything to anyone. Have you been well in my absence?

-Beaming, she can’t help but blush a little at his words.- Aw, geez, I don’t know about that…~ ♥

-As he pulls away, she blinks, watching his expression carefully. Shaking her head quickly, she points an accusing little finger at him.- Hey, now— you shouldn’t be apologizing for anything! —Except for maybe not playing with me as much as you used to. -Giving him a toothy grin, she giggles.- I’ve been fine, everyone’s been fine! Ash is really busy, so you might not get to talk to him as much— but I’m here, so you can just play with me instead, right? ♥

[Chuckles softly.] Well— good afternoon, Cheryl. [Crouches over to meet her at eye-level - pulling out a bouquet from behind his back, holding it out to her.] For you. [Smiles.]

-She sniffs and looks up as she finds herself being lifted into the air and into Neil’s arms, rubbing her eyes slightly and clinging to him with her small hands. Waiting until they were both on the fence, she let out a little hiccup and found herself crying.- W-well— I don’t k-know why, but— when you said that it m-made me so sad to think t-that Alpo was going to go somewhere else—!

And then I thought— -She hiccups again.- —What if that h-happens to my other friends, too? There aren’t any children but me here in Bluebell, so i-it’s really h-hard— t-to make friends— and I know I’m b-big like any of you guys, but I h-hope I don’t bother you— I would b-be really sad if y-you didn’t play with me anymore—! -She sobs into her hands, muffling the sniffles and hitched breaths.-

I d-don’t want a-anyone to go anywhere— I d-don’t want to b-be alone…

-She wipes at her big blue eyes, trying to hide her very unladylike face from Neil’s line of sight.-

[Listens to her intently, not moving at first - but he eventually rubs her back in small and gentle circular motions, trying his best to comfort her. As she covers her face with her hands, he gingerly removes them from her eyes.] No, Cheryl … it’s not a bother.

You know— [Wipes away a tear, grazing his thumb over her cheek.] Not too long ago, I lost my mom in an accident … I lost the one family member that I was really close to, and I never thought it would have happened so suddenly. [Looks down to the grass.] I was sad too— really sad, and when she was gone … I was alone.

But— [Glances back at her.] That’s where I was wrong. Of course I lost someone that meant a lot to me … but I wasn’t alone. I had friends that I could fall back to— some closer than others, and others that eventually stepped out of my life.

[Smiles faintly.] That’s just one of the little things about life; people will always come and go, whether we like it or not … it happens. But what matters the most— [Pulls her in closer, resting his chin atop her head.] Are the few people who will always be there. Not everyone disappears. [Pulls back slightly, pointing her alpaca out.] Alpo is still here … and look, I haven’t gone anywhere either; I’m right here.

[Heaves a soft sigh.] The important thing is to make the most of the time that you’ve got with everyone you care about … and someday, you can look back on it and smile.

-She cries, slowly quieting down to a sniffle as she listens to him talk. At the mention of him losing his mother, her eyes got big, and she even clung that much tighter to him in concern. She couldn’t even fathom how horrid and lonely he must have felt.- … -She hugs him, though she isn’t sure whether it’s for her sake or his.-

-With the most sincerely worried little voice she can muster, she looks Neil square in the eyes and feels her lips begin to wiggle with emotion.- A-are you sure that you’e not going to go anywhere…? And that I don’t bother you…?

[Casually walks up to Cheryl's farm, spotting her out in the pen with the animals - before hiding something behind his back and tip-toeing up behind her. Bites his lower lip to stifle his chuckling, waiting for her to turn around and notice him.]

-Cheryl huffs irritably, running after a chicken, trying to wash it after it had fallen into a puddle of mud— but seeing as all chickens hate her, she wasn’t getting very far.-
Hmmmph… Stupid bird…! I didn’t want to touch you anyway, you dumb nasty thing!!

-After stopping for a moment to catch her breath, she suddenly smells something very good— floral, perhaps— and turns around to find Cam.- Oh—! ♥

-Eyes lighting up, she giggles happily and throws her arms around his waist.- Big brother Caaaaam!! ♥♥♥

-Cheryl gazed at Neil fondly, absorbing his words and letting them soak in. She squeezed his hand subconsciously while he talked, swallowing a little when she came to the realization that she didn’t like the idea of being alone, ever. Her blue eyes got big and her brow knitted together as she thought about how there were no kids for her to play in Bluebell, and the Konohana kids were rather shy and required a walk too long for her small, delicate frame. The adults surely got tired of her most of the time, and suddenly she wondered if maybe she was just a bother to those around her— and Goddess knew she was always clinging to Ash— did she annoy him, too? Was she troublesome? Trying to shake those bad thoughts from her head, she opened her mouth to speak to Neil.-

Well, I—

-She cuts herself short as she realizes her voice does not at all sound normal and is rather cracked; blinking, she realizes her eyes have been watering and feels tears roll down her cheeks, eyes widening in mild surprise. Quickly shaking her head, she looks down and meekly wipes her eyes, sniffling as quietly as possible.-

Oh, gosh— I’m sorry, Neil, I don’t know why that happened… My eyes just… -She clears her throat in hopes to return her voice to normal, though it doesn’t work.- Yeah, I can always come to your place…

[Feeling her squeeze onto his hand, he blinks - before looking back at her. As he quietly watches tiny tears roll down her cheeks, his eyes widen and he bites his lower lip - thinking that he said something wrong.]

[Slowly, he straightens himself up without breaking their hand contact. After another moment of silence, he gently tugs on her hand, pulling her up.] It’s alright, Cheryl … come here— [Crouching over, he lifts her up into his arms and walks back to the fence, before pushing himself onto it, sitting down and setting Cheryl onto his lap.]

It’s okay to cry, but tell me— [Softly brushes aside the stray hairs above her eyes.] What’s on your mind, hm?

-She sniffs and looks up as she finds herself being lifted into the air and into Neil’s arms, rubbing her eyes slightly and clinging to him with her small hands. [Sighs softly through his nose, nodding once and slightly crouching over - looking up into Cheryl’s eyes.] I see.

[Smiles lightly at her, before reaching his hand out to gently hold hers.] You know— even if someone does buy him, and even if there comes a day where you might not be able to spend time with him like this … [Softly brushes his thumb over her knuckles.] He can still be your best friend. Something like a little distance can’t break apart a bond …  as long as you don’t let it. [Extends his free hand out to pat Alpo.]

And plus— [Looks back at Cheryl, widening his smile a bit.] If that does happen and you get lonely at first … you can always come play with the animals at my place too.

-She giggles and tugs him again, walking him towards the edge of the fence beside her mother’s shop.- Wait here and I’ll go fetch it, okay? ♥

-She slips under the fence and walks toward the center of the field, stopping once she gets there. She whistles loudly and waits for a moment, rocking back on her heels, before a rather large herd of alpacas surround her. She squeals and giggles, drowning in their fluff, before pulling a splotchy brown-colored one from the crowd and hopping on top of it, riding it back to Neil.-

-Eyes bright, she beams at him.- His name is Alpo and he lets me ride him! Isn’t he the cutest thing in the whole woooorld? ♥

[Blinks, before nodding and watching her slide under the fence. Peering over the edge, he knits his brows together and narrows his eyes, as he tries to get a better view. Hearing a whistle, he steps closer, until he sees Cheryl mounted on top of a brown alpaca - and he chuckles softly through his nose.]

[Casually steps over the fence, making his way over to Cheryl.] Alpo, huh? [Gently pats its head, shifting his hand to scratch behind its ears.] He’s definitely cute— [Smirks lightly at Cheryl.] Must like you a lot to let you ride him like this.

Is he yours?

-Cheryl’s smile falters slightly as he asks her the question, and she looks down for a moment.- Well— N-not actually, but— I figure that if I wish reeeeally hard, nobody will buy him, and then he can be my best friend forever and ever! ♥

-She giggles and smooshes her face into Alpo’s fur, cuddling him. He snorts, but otherwise seems content.-

He’s the cutest thing ever ♥ and so fluffy ♥ heehee~ ♥

O-Oh? Really? -Blushing faintly, she smiles appreciatively.- Well, gosh~ When you say it like that, I might just have to come visit you all the time! ♥

-She scratches her head sheepishly.- Ah, yeah… That was interesting, though. When I was older, everyone was much nicer to me! Especially boys! -She smiles obliviously, eyes big and blue and happy.- You really think I got taller?! Oh! I’m so excited to hear that!!

-Snapping back to the normalcy that surrounds them, she blinks in realization.- Hey— you’re awfully cheery today. Did something interesting happen?

[Nods.] I’ve no objections.

Ah— is that the case? [Cocks one eyebrow high, scratching his temple - as though trying to discern whether he likes that or not. Decides after a moment that he doesn’t - but waves it off mentally in lieu of her excitement.] Mhm, I do think so. About this much. [Holds up his forefinger and thumb in a pinch, showing her just under an inch - before frowning at it.] No.. no, probably about here. [Shows her four inches instead, clearly exaggerating.] Yes, about this much. Hmm.

Cheery? You think? [Gives a good-natured shrug.] Not especially. I’m back to work and sleeping much better than I was a week ago, and that’s enough to put me in a good mood. Would you like some tea?

-She stares at his fingers in awe, giving a big smile.- Whaaat? Really?! That much? Wow! ♥

Well, it’s nice to see you in such a good mood! It makes me happy when Mr. Gill is happy~ ♥ -She beams and moves to the other side of the desk, standing beside him.- Yes, I would love some tea~ ♥

-She watches his face carefully, lighting up as he smiles.- I’ve been well! I missed you, though. And I’m sure your office is boring when I’m not in it~ Heehee, I’m just kidding! ♥ -Giggling, she grins.- You look very nice today. ♥

[Smile widens ever so slightly as he nods his agreement.] That’s exactly so, Cheryl. I think you bring in the sunshine with you when you visit - that’s what’s to blame. I think you probably either ought to visit far more often, or far less - just so that I won’t get spoiled. Though I’d prefer the former.

Well— thank you. [Sits up a bit straighter.] And you as well. I think you’ve gotten taller since last I saw you. That is to say, taller since the last I saw you and you weren’t under a spell that made you much taller.

O-Oh? Really? -Blushing faintly, she smiles appreciatively.- Well, gosh~ When you say it like that, I might just have to come visit you all the time! ♥

Uhm well /looks away and plays with the bottom of his shirt/

Oh~ That does sound like fun! Do you have any pretty pictures to show off? I’d like to see!

-Her eyes widen slightly at his loosely-used title, the blush on her cheeks now very apparent.- Wh— don’t say stuff you don’t mean to a lady! That’s impolite! Stupid!!

-She covers her face and shouts at him, red-faced and embarrassed.- Yes! All of the above! And you aren’t allowed to look at anyone else but me, even for a second! If I catch you straying from me, I’ll be very upset!!

[chuckles to himself behind a hand at her reaction, listening to her every word]

Of course, petite ma’dame. I wouldn’t have eyes for any other!

[leans down and kisses over her hands, chuckling gently again]

Y-You’d better not!

P-promise you’ll spend the day with me! Pinky promise! -She extends her pinky towards him and averts her eyes, still blushing.- We can leave right after this, right?
